From me, to you.

Hi there! I know, it's been a while since I last updated. I'm ashamed of how I neglected Blogger. I didn't even keep up with the blogs I'm following. I'm so sorry!

It really isn't because life got in the way. I mean, it's me we're talking about; my life isn't that busy.

In my last post I said I'd update about how my Saturday (November 21st) night went, at a club called Shout. Well, below you'll see why I didn't update.

I won a Blog Award! (No, this isn't the reason, keep reading)

This is like one of the best things about my holidays. I never thought I'd win an award but there it is! I'll move on to the instructions now.

Can you sense my giddiness from your side of the world?

1. Thank the person who gave you the award.

Katie (Confessions of a Whimsical Mind), thank you so much for awarding me this Blog... wait, let me rephrase that. Thank you so much for the Blog Award! You don't know how much this means to me! Or maybe you do, since this was your first Award too, but it really means a lot, lot, lot, that you think my blog is worth this. So thank you!

Note to other people than Katie: check out her blog; it's worth a read and follow. It's cheerful, funny, interesting and I always look forward to her next updates. They're all great reads. I always smile when I visit her blog.

2. Copy the award.

I find it quite stupid how Instruction #2 and Instruction #3 isn't put together. But that's just me.

3. Post it in your blog.

4. Tell Us 7 things that your readers don't know.

So this is where I tell you about my Saturday night on November 21st.

*My cousin Izzie came home that night. We were meant to go to the club together and when she arrived, stupid me, I forgot all about eating dinner and just talked to her until it was time to get ourselves ready. The last time I ate that day was 4 p.m. and when we reached Shout at past midnight, first thing we did was have a drink. Dance. And more drinks.

M was there. I said Hi to him (in a really cheerful manner I must say), but he totally glared at me. Well, not so much as glare as look at me drunkenly.
Still, he didn't return the cheerfulness and he left, while I went to meet my other friends. Who bought me more drinks.

M really doesn't have much to do in the story. Not as much as I thought when I last updated my blog that is.

At around 4 a.m., after throwing up at least three times, I passed out.

I swear, this never happened before and is never happening again.

I didn't update earlier because I didn't want to write about this (since I promised an update on my Saturday night out). It was really embarrassing and at the moment, only a handful of people I know in real life know about it. I'm planning on keeping it that way. Sharing it with you doesn't really have an impact on my life so I think I have nothing to hide from you. Especially not my most humiliating moments.

Or maybe I'll keep those to myself next time.

So, I passed out because I consumed alcohol on an empty stomach.

Are we still Blogger Friends?

*I got my end of year exam results last Tuesday (December 1st) and I got a B in Accounting. I'm not very happy with that grade. I also got a grade I'm even less proud of in one of my subsidary subjects. I'm not putting that letter on my blog.

*I went on a three-days-stay at my friend, Tessa's bungalow on Monday. We stayed until Wednesday and I was the only single girl.

Wait, that sounded weird.

I was the only girl who was single. So two nights in a row were spent chatting and playing card and board games with 1. the boys who were single and 2. the boy whose girlfriend didn't come. The couples were occupied, in a non-sexual way I assure you.

*I learnt how to play poker during that trip. I thought poker was boring, but it really isn't. Not as much as I thought anyway.

*I love the colour purple. I bet you didn't know that.

*I tweet a lot, over at http://twitter.com/missykimmy. Are you Following me there yet? Please do?

*Anyone can anonymously ask me anything at http://formspring.me/missykimmy. Anything you'd like to know about me, about my country, about life; whatever you're curious about, ask me. It would be an extended version of this 'Seven things your readers don't know about you'. It's meant to be fun, so please, don't ask me about my grades.

5. Link 7 new bloggers as recipients.
New bloggers? I'm not sure I know any new bloggers. Instead, I'll give this award to seven awesome bloggers I follow. They are the first that came to mind when I thought about who to pass this award on to, so it doesn't mean the other blogs I follow aren't worthy enough. (This sounded like a disclaimer, didn't it?)

The most hilarious stories about what happens in the office of a publishing company in London.

*Sparkless at Madness From The Brink Of Insanity.
Heartwarming stories about her life.

*Sarah at You Make My Date.
Hilarious and delightful stories about her dates... or dating disasters.

*Michael at Do you hate it too?.
This is the blog most people can relate to. And it's hilarious, by the way.

*Sarah at The Good Girls.
Amazing blog with breathtaking stories. With anecdotes from her life too.

*Nomad at 365 Days of People.
It's all in the title. Hilarious blog about people everyone encounter in their life.
It's stories that make you smile. Like, really smile.

I don't think I need to say why I love each blog. It's something you should check out for yourself. But trust me, they're all awesome.

I'm so sure about that, that I can say, "if you don't like those blogs, something is seriously wrong with you," without being worried about insulting anyone.

6. Notify winners of award with comment on their blog.
I will, as soon as I stop procrastinating.

7. Keep being Awesome.
I'll try.

I know, this post is massively long. Does it make up for the three weeks I was absent from the Blogosphere? I'll try to update this week again. What do you want me to blog about?

Also, can everyone please leave a comment and recommend one blog? I'm looking for interesting blogs to read, preferably light in content. Any suggestions?

I'll end this post now. But before that, if you're curious about anything, ask me at http://formspring.me/missykimmy.

It's anonymous, so really, you can ask me about absolutely anything.

Oh! I almost forgot; I'm starting something new. After each of my posts, I'll ask a question for you to answer by commenting.

It's all about getting the comments. It's all about getting to know each other. And it's meant to be fun.

Since I told you my favourite colour earlier, that would be the first question:

What's your favourite colour?

(If this is a stupid idea, let me know ASAP.)

I have not yet begun to procrastinate.

I'm the biggest procrastinator I know.

I had to submit some designs for a shirt last week, I haven't yet.

I had to empty my suitcase three months ago, I haven't yet.

I wanted to update a new post on Saturday, I didn't.

I wanted to finish all my homework on Monday, I didn't.

I wanted to get a haircut three weeks ago, I didn't.

Wait, scratch that last one. I DID!

I finally got a haircut today! Can't say I hate it. It's not too bad. Have a look:

I look so cute in that picture with my fluffy white dog, don't I?

...

Yeah, that's not me. I just wanted the same haircut. It looks similar, but eh, not perfect.

For anyone who watches Taiwanese Dramas, that's Joe Chen QiaoEn (Chen Xin Yi from Fated To Love You), and the dog is Xiao Ke Ai from ISWAK, if I'm not mistaken.

Ha, let me turn off my Asian mode.

...

I have so many things I could blog about (keyword: could) but somehow, I just can't start writing. I have no specific subject, so I guess I'll just write whatever comes to mind.

It's been raining for two days straight now but I haven't been out of the house that much. I'm turning into those kids who never leave their houses because they have no social life.

This is bad. I blame my friends.

They're fighting. More like - not on speaking terms.

So now I'm stuck in the freakin' middle where I have to listen to both parties complaining about each other.

I hate having to choose a side. I didn't. I shouldn't. But it's frustrating to see really good friends suddenly turn against each other.

They're acting like 12-year-olds, where they keep bitching about how they didn't expect this or that from the other, how they don't get each other anymore, how the other has changed, how blah blah blah... kill me now.

This is a repeat from two years ago. The same thing happened with those two parties and Anna (I mentioned her in my last post). Well, not exactly the same, but I still was/am in the middle of the fight.

Now I'm like, at a crossroad and I don't really know where to turn to. ):

I shouldn't try to make things right, right? I mean, I would probably make things worse if I interfered...

All right, enough with the melodrama.

I'm going out again on Saturday. To Shout, I mean. (That too, mentioned in my last post.) There will be many more people than the last time because the HSC Examinations (A Level) end this Friday. I think.

Yikes, next year, I'll have to go through that. Last year of school. Huge Cambridge examinations.

I really don't want 2010 to come. I should jump to 2011.

Eff 2010. Who needs this year anyway?

There was a Supernatural Convention in Chicago this weekend. The main casts of the TV Show Supernatural were there and so many fans of the show/actors too.

This made me wonder why 'ordinary people' go "OHMYGODOHMYGOD. OH.MY.GOD" when there's a celebrity in close proximity.

Why do we want to meet them? What makes them so special? They're just people, people! Why all the fuss!?

Okay, I have to admit. If I saw a celebrity, I would probably hyperventilate.

But really, why do they have such an effect on us? We want autographs, pictures, their shirt (so we could smell their cologne), and stuff like that.

'We' mostly consists of girls, I can't help but notice.

Anyway, I've vowed to attend a Supernatural Convention in 2011 when I won't have school or tuitions anymore. Only if it's in Canada, though. Or close to Canada at least.

If there'll still be Supernatural Conventions in 2011, that is.

Gah, what am I talking about? I'm never attending a Convention. But hey, at least I have plans.

By the way, M stopped calling. I feel like screaming with joy, but what if he's mad at me because I haven't been answering his phone calls for the last five days?

I'm glad he took a hint, but if he's there on Saturday and he ignores me (usually we hang with the same group), I'll feel guilty as hell.

If this happens, I might stalk him until he swears he isn't mad at me.

I think I'd take it better if he avoids me. Is that weird?

I have to write an essay now. For my GP tuition on Friday.

I made a bet with this friend of mine, and if I do my homework, he'll buy three drinks for me (one of them a bottle of water). If I don't, I'm the one buying.

So I have to do this essay. I have to!

Is sponsorship in Sports a blessing or a curse?

...

Oh dear God. I just wrote this post to procrastinate, now I'm left with no choice but to do the essay.

Sob sob sob.

This auto-saving-draft thing on the Post Editor is annoying me. Every minute, it's 'Saving...'

Every. Minute.

It makes my computer lag. Does anyone have this problem?

Can anyone tell me how to change it to every twenty minutes?

All right, enough with the procrastination.

I have a movie to watch.

I have an essay to write.

My 'apple pie' Saturday night.

This is a very long post. You've been warned.

It was a Friday when we met, Apple and I.

I had heard a lot about him - how he was the most studious boy ever. And when I finally saw him in person that one Friday afternoon in my GP tuition, he swept me off my feet.

Like, totally not.

Apple seemed like the kind of guy who would help you out whenever you needed him. He's also the shyest guy I know who says that he isn't shy at all.

At first he looked like a nice guy and I accepted to give him my MSN e-mail address when he asked oh-so politely.

It. Was. The. Biggest. Mistake. Of. My. Life.

(That, and the time when I told M that I was 'still his friend who he could call if he needed to talk.' You can learn more about M here if you haven't read my last post.)

Ever since I added Apple on my contact-list on MSN, he began assaulting me!

Okay, maybe not assault, but each time I'd sign in, I'd see a little orange box flashing in my task-bar.

It's Apple, saying "Hi!"

And ten minutes later when I haven't replied yet, the little box would flash orange again. This time, Apple is saying: "How are you?"

Yes, I know, he seems like a very nice guy, how mean of me to ignore him like that!

But tell me how would you feel if someone asked you how you were doing two hours after actually seeing you at tuition that day?

Two hours after having actually spoken to you, face to face?

Two hours after having actually seen how you were doing?

Two hours aft- you get the point.

I always reply him, though.

Maybe not always, but still, I do reply most of the time.

And so what if I reply the next day? Or, two days later?

At least I apologise, telling him how busy I was the day before (or the day before yesterday) and how I didn't check my computer at all. Lies!

His answer to that was most of the time the same: "It's okay. I'm used to it."

You must be thinking he got used to my replying so tardily to his online conversations, but no. I asked. (because I thought the same thing and felt extremely badly.) He said he was used to people not replying to him. People, as in, other persons he chats with online. They too, don't reply. Some never do.

...

Anyway, Saturday October 31st arrived (the first weekend of our summer holidays), and most of my friends and I went to a club called Shout.

Apple was there.

I greeted him with a huge smile on my face, because his hair made me want to burst out laughing. (It was all spiky and everything. Like the Joe Hawk, only worse)

I think he thought I was really excited about his being there.

To avoid awkwardness (because he just stood by me while I laughed about an inside joke with my friends (the inside joke was him, really. ><)), I told him not to forget that he promised me a drink.

I should have let the awkwardness spiral like crazy, because next thing I know, Apple was saying "Okay, let's go." and his arm was around my shoulders.

He friggin' touched my shoulder with his sweaty palm!

We made our way through the crowd, and I tried to walk as quickly as possible just to get him to let go of me.

When he couldn't reach my shoulders anymore, he placed his hand on the small of my back and I think I actually yelped and retreated from his touch.

"Don't touch me!" I said through gritted teeth, throwing a big fat fake smile his way.

Thank God he didn't hear me, because he just grinned back.

And he looked creepy like that.

At the bar, he asked what I wanted to drink and I said, "The one with the lowest price, thanks. Wouldn't want you to spend too much on me."

"Oh don't worry about it." He placed a hand on the bar surface, conveniently placing his arm around me.

I almost cried.

Then M joined us and I jumped away from Apple, pretending to have something to say to M.

M thought I was being stupid for ordering a Smirnoff Ice. I thought I was being nice.

Apparently, M saw that Apple was a 'sucker for me' and that he would buy anything for me just so he could 'get me'. Whatever that meant.

I changed my order. I don't know why I listened to M but I did.

The price was doubled but Apple didn't complain.

So gentlemanly of him right?

When I finally got my drink, I thanked Apple (very sincerely, I must say) and took the money for it out of Apple's hand because I was closest to the bartender, and while I was paying, Apple freakin' took the glass and had 'a sip'.

More like a huge audible gulp.

I stared at him, a bit taken aback while Apple scrunched up his face at the taste of the alcohol.

It was a funny sight, especially since the drink had Redbull in it and it tasted like juice more than anything. (Sweet is like juice right?)

And I was taken aback because, well let me think, uh, he bought the drink for me?

Of course I would have shared the drink (even if I didn't feel like drinking it anymore because of the way he drank), but isn't it not-gentlemanly to drink from the glass first when he bought it for me in the first place?

...

Did that just make sense?

Doesn't matter. M was laughing his ass off with my other friend, Anna because they too, found that it wasn't a nice move Apple did there.

We all went back to the dance floor, mostly because I wanted to get away from Apple already.

I know, I'm mean, but you've got to understand that Apple had his hands everywhere!

He wasn't being a pervert or anything, I think, but I was extremely uncomfortable, especially whenever he tried to put his arm around my shoulders, even if I was taller than him because of my heels.

Also, note that his arm was around my shoulders, like I was his buddy or something...

After I finally got my drink to myself, we all went back to the dance floor. Apple followed his hand desperately trying to touch my back when I tried to walk quickly away from him.

I mean, I know I couldn't have just left him at the bar but a part of me was hoping he wouldn't follow.

And all parts of me wished he'd stop touching me.

As we walked, Apple drank some more from my the drink.

He didn't even ask before taking it out of my hand. Though I wouldn't have said no even if he did. He paid for it, after all.

Once we were back where I was dancing with my group of friends (who were all laughing at the sight of us approaching), I dashed for the Ladies' (with my drink), dragging my friend Anna with me.

"I'll be right back!" I shouted, when Apple grabbed my arm, demanding where I was going.

Okay, he wasn't as aggressive as I made it sound but anyway.

I was back fifteen minutes later and my plan worked! Apple was gone, gone, gone!

Hear the echo that makes it all the more dramatic?

Though I was glad Apple was away from me with his other friends, I had to endure another kind of pain; my friends making fun of Apple.

They were acting mean, and I didn't approve of the jokes but I laughed anyway.

Truth be told, they were hilarious, but it still doesn't make it right.

That's not the bad part. They kept saying how Apple drank from the glass because it was like 'kissing me'. And they went on about how I should be careful or Apple might 'throw himself at me' from out of nowhere.

Ugh, gag me.

Later on, we were dancing again and Apple joined us.

"You wanna dance?" he asked me, leaning in closer to my ear when I tried to lean further away from him.

I almost laughed out loud. "Um, I already am dancing."

I think he forgot the 'with me' part, and thank God he did!

He was like such a dork!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I am cool or whatever. I'm a dork too, from what I can tell. But he was like the typical 'nerds' you see in the teenage movies, you know? The ones people always make fun of?

Yes I know, I'm a terrible person. I'm not very proud of this.

So anyway, M says Apple has a crush on me.

I don't know about that, but the way he behaves (apparently, it's only when he's around me) is hilarious.

What I do know is that I was extremely mean to Apple that Saturday (October 31st). I even asked him to go buy another drink for me, because my feet hurt.

He was a bit reluctant, but I said I'd give him money to pay for it.

And he agreed. I'll admit, part of me expected him to oppose. What, being the gentleman that he is.

I wished I had shut my mouth then, because I said, "Aw, you're not paying? You said you'd buy me more than one drink."

I wished he hadn't heard me then like he didn't hear when I told him not to touch me.

It was M's idea, though, "to see how far Apple would go to 'get me'".

But I know I'm really the one to blame.

...

Stupid M.

I'm never listening to him again.

I'm already not answering his phone calls (for other reasons)(and yes, he started calling me every day again. At one in the morning instead of midnight now).

Anyway, when we all began to leave the club at about 5 a.m., Apple didn't even say goodbye.

I was standing right there and he ignored me!

I think it was another friend of mine's fault. He was sitting with Apple, waiting for the ride home, and he was chanting, "Kimmy, Kimmy, Kimmy..."

I suppose Apple felt embarrassed to come say goodbye, but at that time, I thought he was mad at me.

How do I know he wasn't?

On Monday (November 2nd) when I signed in on MSN, a little box flashed orange in my task-bar.

It was Apple. "Hi! Had fun on Saturday?"

And yes, I know, that still doesn't mean I'm not a terrible person. Or does it?

Does that make me a terrible person?

This week has got to be on my Weirdest Weeks of My Life list, and it's pretty high on the list too, I might say. It's also on my Not My Proudest Moments list.

It's Saturday night, 31st October 2009. (I could have left out the year but anyway.) I went clubbing with some of my closest friends and everything was as normal as could be. I guess.

Except of course there was this guy who I'm going to call Nancy.

Because he feels like a Nancy to me.

Okay, that was mean. I'll just call him Apple.

Which is a better name than Mr. A. Piao.

Those of you who follow me on Twitter might remember seeing this before. But anyway --

You know what? I just got a call from this other guy I went clubbing with that same night. I'll call him... Melon.

Those fruit-names aren't sitting well with me. It's just that his name starts with an M.

I guess I'll call him M.

Back to the phone call.

It's midnight and M, the guy who I found out Monday, has a crush on me, calls me. And I totally blow him off.

I think he noticed.

When I picked up the phone, he asked what I was doing.

It's midnight! People are usually sleeping at midnight, dummy!

Maybe not me, but he doesn't know that.

Unless he really knows me.

I seriously doubt it.

So I told him I was sleeping and his call woke me up.

He said, "Oh, you were sleeping?"

Oh, did you have to repeat what I just told you?

I instantly felt bad for lying though. I was actually writing this post (the beginning of it anyway) while watching my new favourite TV Show, House M.D.

But I didn't want to talk to M. He loves talking on the phone for hours without really talking about anything. I didn't mind postponing this update but it kind of bugs me to talk for so long when I can be watching my show.

I mean, I like conversations on the phone, but when I have a show to watch, do not disturb me. I can be very rude and you might end up with a broken heart.

Which is what I think happened to M. Not sure yet.

He started apologising for disturbing me.

And I asked him what was wrong.

I made my voice groggy and all that just to make my lie more believable.

I think he noticed. I don't know if it's me being paranoid about getting caught at lying.

"You weren't home all day today, were you?" he asked.

Like he was testing me or something.

"Why?"

"Didn't see you on-line at all today."

I knew he was going to say that. I actually didn't log on because of him.

But I couldn't tell him that could I? The guy has a crush on me for God's sake!

"I just wasn't on the computer that much."

I could hear him close to asking - why not? What did you do all day? - I had to stop him. Or more lies would have come out of my mouth. "So why did you call?" I asked.

"I just couldn't go to sleep."

So you decided to call me so I couldn't sleep either? Jackass.

Then he kept talking, and I felt so bad for lying to him like that. "Anyway, I'm sorry I called. You should go back to sleep." He sounded miserable, I tell you.

"Yeah okay." I wasn't brave enough to fake a yawn like I was planning to.

I felt terrible and guilty, and so bad that I was blowing him off. See why below.

Three days ago, I think - or was it five? - I told him he had to stop calling me every day.

Ever since he told me he had a thing for me on Monday, he started calling every day, saying that he was determined to make me change my mind about him, and make me like him the way he did me.

He got annoying, and clingy - nobody likes a guy who calls every. single. day. Right?

And if I didn't pick up the phone, he'd call me on another number that I wouldn't recognise - like he was testing if I was avoiding him or if I just could hear my phone ringing.

Truth be told, a friend warned me he might do this so I avoided all phone calls - for a day.

I eventually answered his call at night. I felt bad about ignoring him because I had told him on Monday, that I didn't want things to be different between us. I was 'still his friend who he could call if he needed to talk'.

Stupid of me to have said that.

Anyway, four or five days ago, I finally told him to stop calling me every day. Reason being that it would not help in convincing me to go out with him.

"Okay, I won't call you every day," he promised.

"Not even every two days."

Pause. "Oh." Pause. "Okay."

Ha! I knew he was planning on calling me every two days! He's so annoyingly desperate, I just knew.

I hate clingy guys more than anything.

The thing is, I never knew him like that. I never knew how clingy he could be. Now I see him like this clingy, desperate guy looking for my attention.

Yuck, I hate him like that, I'm not sure I still want things to be normal between us, I just want to go back in time when I was oblivious to this... side of him.

Anyway, that was five days ago. I guess he had every right to call me today. But I blew him off. This is why I felt and still feel terrible and guilty.

I pretended that I was going back to bed when instead I began writing this post about his phone call.

He kept apologising for having woken me up and I could hear in his voice that he understood that I just didn't want to talk to him.

Does that make me a terrible person?

Just because he likes me, I'm trying to push him away?

Actually, I wasn't planning on pushing him away.

See, I usually try to distance myself from the guys who like me but I don't, just so they stop liking me. Does that even make sense?

I think deep down, I do that just to see who fights back, who is willing to fight for me. M did. But he fought like a Nancy.

I didn't like that. So I couldn't help but push him away. Tell me I wasn't too harsh on him?

I think I'll finish this post another time. If I start telling stories about Apple too, it'd be way too long.

M's story isn't even finished yet - that was just the ending.

I think he hates me now.

Also, I noticed when I updated my last post, I stopped getting visits from France. This kind of thing always happens to me. I'll talk about this later too.

I'm not sure how much sense this post made but maybe with my next update it'll become clearer.

I'm going to bed. Goodnight!

You know I'm lying. I'm actually watching House M.D.

Bonjour, La France!

À noter/Note: Je parle français dans certaines parties de ce message. / I speak French in some parts of this post.

I’ve noticed that people visit my blog from France quite often. This made me wonder if they/you are just visiting my blog or are actually reading.

Because if you’re reading, and are from France, then you know both French and English.

That’s kind of cool.

Parce que moi aussi je parle français!

I was just curious who from France reads my blog.

I guess I’ll make this post about how many people on blogger know different languages. I only know three languages – two of them are kind of obvious, and the third one is Creole. Which is what we speak here in Mauritius.

I’d love to learn Mandarin as a fourth language. But right now, I don’t have time for that. I’m also interested in Japanese, Korean and Spanish.

So I can watch soap operas and other dramas without reading the subtitles.

Anyway, what language(s) do you speak, other than English? And what language(s) have you considered learning but didn’t get around to? Or, which one(s) are you planning on learning? Or currently are?

That was supposed to be only one question, but eh, just let me know in the comments. ^_^

I’ll make another post this week to tell you all about how weird these past few days have been (to me). I’m still a bit freaked (in a bad way) right now so I don’t really know what to say about it. Hopefully, by the end of the week, my head will be clearer.

Also, I’ve been having a killer headache since Friday and it’s impossible to do much because of it.

Not that I usually do a lot of things.

I just like having the possibility to.

Which I currently don’t.

Please don’t forget to leave a comment! And if you can, comment in another language (ie. not in English), I’d love that! But do put in a translation.

À moins que c’est en français, bien évidemment.

Merci!

Until next time,

I’m watching a Taiwanese Drama without subtitles.

Hopefully, this will help improve my Mandarin.

P.S. It’s my Mum’s birthday today! I hope everyone had/will have a good day! Especially her. But she won’t be reading this. Still, I’d like to say, Happy Birthday Mum! I love you loads. (:

My life's that interesting.

Before I start, I just thought I'd say this: I've decided that in each of my posts, I'll add a comic strip from the Garfield books by Jim Davis, just because I find them hilarious. I, in no way, take credit for the drawings, idea-- basically, I just scanned the books and thought I'd share some of them with you because well, they're funny and I like sharing funny stuff.

That came out a bit weird, but anyway, I think what I'm trying to do is a disclaimer - I don't want to be sued. *laughs nervously* I think everything belongs to Jim Davis. I'm not sure. ^_^ The books belong to me, though.

Here goes.

Now that this is over and I've already probably bored you out of your mind, on to the real post.

I'm in love!

No really, people say when you're in love you feel extremely happy and bubbly and everything is just dandy. Well that's exactly what I'm feeling right now.

Because I'm on holidays!

Yeah so technically I'm not in love, but I can use that as a metaphor or something, right?

In my last post, I said I'd blog about the interesting things that would surely happen during my exams. Nothing interesting happened. Which is very unsettling with me. I usually have such fun stories to tell about what happened during a particular paper, but this year, everything was normal. Bizarrely normal.

Except maybe on Friday when I had the fright of my life. Not really 'of my life', but I had a minor panic attack. Okay, major.

I had just finished with my Accounting Paper 1 - Multiple Choice Questions. It was a horrible paper; the answers I got from my oh-so intelligent computations were not one of the multiple choices given. Needless to say, I was beyond upset after the paper and when I gathered my things and went to fetch my bag in the back (bag in the back, ha ha), I didn't notice that I forgot my spare calculator under my desk. I was engrossed in hysterically complaining about the paper to a girl from my class, but it could not have been more than five seconds (or was it sixty?) later, when I realised that my spare calculator wasn't with me. My eyes widened -

I do realise this is not a book I am writing here, I've no idea why I felt the need to mention my facial expression.

I swept around (yes, I swept around. Like Cinderella did when the clock struck midnight) and went back to my desk - it took me thirteen more seconds to find it since all desks look alike and I had forgotten where I was seated in the first place - but my calculator was nowhere in sight! I asked everyone if they had seen a calculator, no one did.

No one even paid attention to me. They didn't even look at me when I walked up and down the rows of desks, bending to look under said desks, looking like the hunchback of Notre Dame. They didn't bother asking what I was looking for!

...

I don't look like the hunchback of Notre Dame. *cough*

Not my point. People at school pay no attention to me.

... Also not my point.

My calculator was gone, gone, gone!

Hear the echo that makes it all more dramatic than it really is?

I was panicking and couldn't actually believe that some #%*#)$!--person stole my calculator! There was no way someone could have taken it by accident.

No way in my mind, anyway.

I walked to a teacher and told him about how my calculator friggin' disappeared. I was hoping he had assumed that the owner of the calculator had already left and he had kept it in a special drawer for the owner to come pick it up another time or something.

But no. He actually scolded me and told me to be careful - like it was my fault I had lost it!

Which, come to think of it, might have been my fault, really. But how was I supposed to know a girl would take my calculator in front of everybody when I had my back turned for not even five seconds?

When I left the examination room, I bumped into a group of friends of mine and I told them all about it. I was angry, by that time. And I made such a scene when I left school, puffing, stomping my feet and rolling my eyes.

"Unbelievable! Someone actually stole my calculator in the five seconds that I wasn't looking! That bitch!"

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I said that a bit loudly because some girls turned to stare at me as if I had gone mental.

Like I said, major panic attack.

Well not really panic; more like major blood-boiling-and-overheating-brain attack.

At least to me, it was major. I don't usually have outbursts like that. I'm known to be calm and collected in times of crisis *cough* but I was extremely shocked by the loss of my calculator.

A friggin' calculator.

God, I so overreacted.

I was walking home, still thinking about my calculator - I was murmuring to myself (cursing, really) on the street. I was extremely upset - having done badly in my Accounting paper and having lost my spare calculator.

Spare.

'Overreacted' isn't the right word anymore. What's a stronger word than that?

...

My legs usually automatically take me home but that day I don't know what happened. It was like, even my legs were upset by the loss of my calculator.

So upset, they made me walk into a parked car.

A parked car.

A parked car.

I've said it thrice already here, but in my head, it's like the bazillion-and-fifth time. I still can't believe I walked into a parked car.

Was I not looking where I was going? How does one even do that?

My right knee still kind of hurts but I got over it already. It's the fact that I walked into a parked car that I still haven't gotten over.

A parked car.

It wasn't moving. I was moving. I could have moved away, but no, I walked into a not-moving car.

Friday was not my day.

Anyway, it turned out that my calculator was taken by accident. When I told a girl from school, at my tuition later that day, that I had lost my calculator, she immediately told me that she saw a calculator and gave it to some other girl because she thought it was hers.

I could have throttled her on the spot.

But I was calm and collected.

I'm that great.

I called the other girl and I got my calculator back on Monday. Though I hate Mondays, I hate losing things more, so I couldn't have been happier when I got my calculator back.

Except if Monday had been run over and died. Then I would have been happier.

But today's Wednesday, and I'm on holidays - so everything is absolutely dandy. (I'm loving that word, don't ask why (not that I thought you'd ask why anyway))

So this post is long enough. I'll end it now. I need to catch up on the blogs I'm following - I've missed a lot during my exams.

Ugh, exams. I hope the 1st of December doesn't come too quickly. That's when I'll get the results.

Until next time --

You'd think being on holidays and all I'd have plenty of fun stuff to do outside of the house. It's not the case. For now. I hope.

So I'll be here, reading blogs and refreshing my twitter page.

I'm that cool.

Follow me on twitter?

My computer was staring creepily at me.

My end-of-year exams officially started today – and they won’t stop until Wednesday next week. Oh God. I’ve got eight more papers coming – a paper every day.

Except for tomorrow I’ve got two.

And on the weekend I’ve got none.

Weekends are Gods.

Anyway, because I’ve decided to put a little effort in studying, I shouldn't be spending too much time on the Internet, nor on writing a new blog-post.

I shouldn’t spend any time at all on those, come to think of it.

But I’ve never been good at making sacrifices for my studies.

I promise I at least tried to stay away from the computer, though. My background image is currently a big red rectangle with the words “BACK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER!” written in yellow lettering.

But I’ve never been good at obeying my own orders either.

The background was effective for precisely half a day.

Okay, not precisely.

It was effective for a whole hour.

...

Yeah, I already changed my background image after that whole hour last Friday. The red made my eyes hurt from staring too longingly at the computer.

It was the one doing the staring, really.

I didn’t actually stare longingly at my computer.

Unless everyone who has ever tried not-going-on-the-computer-but-really-wanted-to did that.

Did anyone do that?

No?

I didn’t do that.

Okay, so, even if I didn’t manage to stay away from the computer, I at least managed not to make a new post for my blog.

Until I’ve been tagged. I’m not one to do everything by the rule. So I thought I’d make a post and mention it.

Because I’ve been tagged for the first time on blogger! It’s kind of cool. (:

I’ve been tagged by AV, at Life is Just like that... Awesome blog, one of the most entertaining I’ve read.

If you want to do the uh, Guilty or Innocent thing, you can find it here. Still on AV’s blog.

I can't exactly do it right now. I don't want to make this post too long.

And there's also the fact that I have to study for tomorrow.

Once I finish with my exams though, I'll blog, blog and blog.

Weird stuff always happen during my exams, I'm sure I'll find something interesting enough to blog about.

All right, over and out.

...

Look at me!

I’m so grown up! I’m backing away. (:

Until next time,

I'm staring longingly at my computer.

I judge you when you use poor grammar.

This is my first post with pictures (there are more at the end so do keep reading to have a look at them! ^_^ ) but let me give a small introduction first.

I’ve been going around looking for interesting blogs to read since yesterday (that’s a weird sentence. Almost like I actually physically went around looking for them!) and I found quite a few very interesting ones. Funny too. I’m glad I created a blog. I think I am more open-minded from all the reading I’ve been doing now.

I heard recently that you have to be open-minded to make it in life, so there. But I know I’m never going to be as open-minded as “necessary”. Or so I heard.

I hear a lot of things.

Voices in my head aren’t those things. *cough*

Right, to be open-minded, one has to be unbiased, activist, accessible, unprejudiced, flexible and tolerant. (Pretend that you didn’t know I just listed down the words given by Thesaurus. If you really didn’t know, pretend that I didn’t just say that. Thank you.) But I can’t be tolerant! Not of everything, at least. See, when I guiltily logged in on my Facebook account just this morning (Guiltily, because I haven’t been on Facebook for a few weeks. Because of Twitter and Blogger. I feel like I’ve been cheating on Facebook or something, so yeah, guiltily), I had a look at the Groups I was a member of and I judge you when you use poor grammar. is one of those groups. I realised that, if I had joined such a group, I’m not as tolerant as I thought. I mean, read the following and if you totally don’t care, you’ll know you’re open-minded. I think.

"Your awesome."

"I'll meet you at they're house."

"Follow me too the party."

That’s in the description of the Group, here: http://bit.ly/4CzVJY

It also adds:

If mistakes like these make you want to whip out your red pen, join this group.

So I couldn’t not join it. I’ll admit, even I have made mistakes like these. But they were typos.

They were typos okay!?

...

I try checking everything I write before posting it anywhere – in Chat conversations, on Twitter, on my blog, when I post a comment – anywhere, really, but I don’t exactly have the eagle eye. It happens that I leave a few mistakes behind. But what about those who, even if they saw a mistake, didn’t realise it was a mistake? What about those who genuinely don’t know that their grammar is, well, crap?

I mean, this is crap, right?

“thank you for calling... and making me realising...”

Really? Making you realising? What is that?

Anyway, when it’s on the internet like that, words exchanged between friends, it’s okay to make mistakes I guess. It happens to the best of us. Even to journalists or published writers on Blogger. I’m not pointing any finger here. But what about the grammar/punctuation mistakes in ads, important signs or posters that are meant to be read by everybody? I posted some pictures from the Facebook group I judge you when you use poor grammar. And I love the comments that the group members make on them. They always come up with the funniest explanation for the grammar mistakes in the pictures!

Before we start, I just have to say: I only selected the funniest comments (to me) I could find for the respective pictures. Also, since I don’t know these people, I only gave their first name. I hope I’m not violating any rules here, by copying what they said on Facebook to put on my blog. Plus, the group is accessible to anyone on the internet; I’m not doing anything wrong here, am I? (:

Another thing, the pictures don’t belong to me. I hope I’m not violating some other rule here as well. ^_^

...

Some people say I’m boring because I hate defying the rules. I like to call myself cautious. Very cautious.

Don’t start calling me Very Cautious.

All right, here we go.

This was five years after the start of the Iraq war.

Judi: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I finally get it (smacks self in forehead)! They are walking to "Many" (wherever that is, I'm not a geography buff) and it's going to take them 5 years to get there!

Todd: That's pathmetic.

Get it? Pathmetic! Arithetic! Haha!

Instead of “us” they put “ourselves”. Like they had to fill the whole width of the sign or something. But Ley, below, thinks it wasn’t a grammatical error. Hilarious!

Ley: Please advise our elves.

Judi: Excuse me...ummmmmmm...yes, I'd like to report a problem with the toilets; the sign is not correct you MORONS! Yourselves need to take a refresher English lesson or 2!

Russ: Will the person responsible for the lettering in the yellow area, please queue up in the red lane.

I think the colour of the picture is a bit messed up. But you can guess what the red lane is, right? Haha, I laughed so hard at this one! And this one too:

Sue: The same painter as the Loading Znoe dude?

Shawn: "Sotp! Police!"

Jim: SOTP = Signs, Obviously Terribly Painted!

Haha, weren’t those funny? There are more pictures here: http://bit.ly/kpHjr

So tell me, do spelling mistakes, grammatical mistakes and improper use of punctuations (especially apostrophes) bother you as much as they bother me? ^_^
