My life's that interesting.

Before I start, I just thought I'd say this: I've decided that in each of my posts, I'll add a comic strip from the Garfield books by Jim Davis, just because I find them hilarious. I, in no way, take credit for the drawings, idea-- basically, I just scanned the books and thought I'd share some of them with you because well, they're funny and I like sharing funny stuff.

That came out a bit weird, but anyway, I think what I'm trying to do is a disclaimer - I don't want to be sued. *laughs nervously* I think everything belongs to Jim Davis. I'm not sure. ^_^ The books belong to me, though.

Here goes.

Now that this is over and I've already probably bored you out of your mind, on to the real post.

I'm in love!

No really, people say when you're in love you feel extremely happy and bubbly and everything is just dandy. Well that's exactly what I'm feeling right now.

Because I'm on holidays!

Yeah so technically I'm not in love, but I can use that as a metaphor or something, right?

In my last post, I said I'd blog about the interesting things that would surely happen during my exams. Nothing interesting happened. Which is very unsettling with me. I usually have such fun stories to tell about what happened during a particular paper, but this year, everything was normal. Bizarrely normal.

Except maybe on Friday when I had the fright of my life. Not really 'of my life', but I had a minor panic attack. Okay, major.

I had just finished with my Accounting Paper 1 - Multiple Choice Questions. It was a horrible paper; the answers I got from my oh-so intelligent computations were not one of the multiple choices given. Needless to say, I was beyond upset after the paper and when I gathered my things and went to fetch my bag in the back (bag in the back, ha ha), I didn't notice that I forgot my spare calculator under my desk. I was engrossed in hysterically complaining about the paper to a girl from my class, but it could not have been more than five seconds (or was it sixty?) later, when I realised that my spare calculator wasn't with me. My eyes widened -

I do realise this is not a book I am writing here, I've no idea why I felt the need to mention my facial expression.

I swept around (yes, I swept around. Like Cinderella did when the clock struck midnight) and went back to my desk - it took me thirteen more seconds to find it since all desks look alike and I had forgotten where I was seated in the first place - but my calculator was nowhere in sight! I asked everyone if they had seen a calculator, no one did.

No one even paid attention to me. They didn't even look at me when I walked up and down the rows of desks, bending to look under said desks, looking like the hunchback of Notre Dame. They didn't bother asking what I was looking for!

...

I don't look like the hunchback of Notre Dame. *cough*

Not my point. People at school pay no attention to me.

... Also not my point.

My calculator was gone, gone, gone!

Hear the echo that makes it all more dramatic than it really is?

I was panicking and couldn't actually believe that some #%*#)$!--person stole my calculator! There was no way someone could have taken it by accident.

No way in my mind, anyway.

I walked to a teacher and told him about how my calculator friggin' disappeared. I was hoping he had assumed that the owner of the calculator had already left and he had kept it in a special drawer for the owner to come pick it up another time or something.

But no. He actually scolded me and told me to be careful - like it was my fault I had lost it!

Which, come to think of it, might have been my fault, really. But how was I supposed to know a girl would take my calculator in front of everybody when I had my back turned for not even five seconds?

When I left the examination room, I bumped into a group of friends of mine and I told them all about it. I was angry, by that time. And I made such a scene when I left school, puffing, stomping my feet and rolling my eyes.

"Unbelievable! Someone actually stole my calculator in the five seconds that I wasn't looking! That bitch!"

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I said that a bit loudly because some girls turned to stare at me as if I had gone mental.

Like I said, major panic attack.

Well not really panic; more like major blood-boiling-and-overheating-brain attack.

At least to me, it was major. I don't usually have outbursts like that. I'm known to be calm and collected in times of crisis *cough* but I was extremely shocked by the loss of my calculator.

A friggin' calculator.

God, I so overreacted.

I was walking home, still thinking about my calculator - I was murmuring to myself (cursing, really) on the street. I was extremely upset - having done badly in my Accounting paper and having lost my spare calculator.

Spare.

'Overreacted' isn't the right word anymore. What's a stronger word than that?

...

My legs usually automatically take me home but that day I don't know what happened. It was like, even my legs were upset by the loss of my calculator.

So upset, they made me walk into a parked car.

A parked car.

A parked car.

I've said it thrice already here, but in my head, it's like the bazillion-and-fifth time. I still can't believe I walked into a parked car.

Was I not looking where I was going? How does one even do that?

My right knee still kind of hurts but I got over it already. It's the fact that I walked into a parked car that I still haven't gotten over.

A parked car.

It wasn't moving. I was moving. I could have moved away, but no, I walked into a not-moving car.

Friday was not my day.

Anyway, it turned out that my calculator was taken by accident. When I told a girl from school, at my tuition later that day, that I had lost my calculator, she immediately told me that she saw a calculator and gave it to some other girl because she thought it was hers.

I could have throttled her on the spot.

But I was calm and collected.

I'm that great.

I called the other girl and I got my calculator back on Monday. Though I hate Mondays, I hate losing things more, so I couldn't have been happier when I got my calculator back.

Except if Monday had been run over and died. Then I would have been happier.

But today's Wednesday, and I'm on holidays - so everything is absolutely dandy. (I'm loving that word, don't ask why (not that I thought you'd ask why anyway))

So this post is long enough. I'll end it now. I need to catch up on the blogs I'm following - I've missed a lot during my exams.

Ugh, exams. I hope the 1st of December doesn't come too quickly. That's when I'll get the results.

Until next time --

You'd think being on holidays and all I'd have plenty of fun stuff to do outside of the house. It's not the case. For now. I hope.

So I'll be here, reading blogs and refreshing my twitter page.

I'm that cool.

Follow me on twitter?

My computer was staring creepily at me.

My end-of-year exams officially started today – and they won’t stop until Wednesday next week. Oh God. I’ve got eight more papers coming – a paper every day.

Except for tomorrow I’ve got two.

And on the weekend I’ve got none.

Weekends are Gods.

Anyway, because I’ve decided to put a little effort in studying, I shouldn't be spending too much time on the Internet, nor on writing a new blog-post.

I shouldn’t spend any time at all on those, come to think of it.

But I’ve never been good at making sacrifices for my studies.

I promise I at least tried to stay away from the computer, though. My background image is currently a big red rectangle with the words “BACK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER!” written in yellow lettering.

But I’ve never been good at obeying my own orders either.

The background was effective for precisely half a day.

Okay, not precisely.

It was effective for a whole hour.

...

Yeah, I already changed my background image after that whole hour last Friday. The red made my eyes hurt from staring too longingly at the computer.

It was the one doing the staring, really.

I didn’t actually stare longingly at my computer.

Unless everyone who has ever tried not-going-on-the-computer-but-really-wanted-to did that.

Did anyone do that?

No?

I didn’t do that.

Okay, so, even if I didn’t manage to stay away from the computer, I at least managed not to make a new post for my blog.

Until I’ve been tagged. I’m not one to do everything by the rule. So I thought I’d make a post and mention it.

Because I’ve been tagged for the first time on blogger! It’s kind of cool. (:

I’ve been tagged by AV, at Life is Just like that... Awesome blog, one of the most entertaining I’ve read.

If you want to do the uh, Guilty or Innocent thing, you can find it here. Still on AV’s blog.

I can't exactly do it right now. I don't want to make this post too long.

And there's also the fact that I have to study for tomorrow.

Once I finish with my exams though, I'll blog, blog and blog.

Weird stuff always happen during my exams, I'm sure I'll find something interesting enough to blog about.

All right, over and out.

...

Look at me!

I’m so grown up! I’m backing away. (:

Until next time,

I'm staring longingly at my computer.

I judge you when you use poor grammar.

This is my first post with pictures (there are more at the end so do keep reading to have a look at them! ^_^ ) but let me give a small introduction first.

I’ve been going around looking for interesting blogs to read since yesterday (that’s a weird sentence. Almost like I actually physically went around looking for them!) and I found quite a few very interesting ones. Funny too. I’m glad I created a blog. I think I am more open-minded from all the reading I’ve been doing now.

I heard recently that you have to be open-minded to make it in life, so there. But I know I’m never going to be as open-minded as “necessary”. Or so I heard.

I hear a lot of things.

Voices in my head aren’t those things. *cough*

Right, to be open-minded, one has to be unbiased, activist, accessible, unprejudiced, flexible and tolerant. (Pretend that you didn’t know I just listed down the words given by Thesaurus. If you really didn’t know, pretend that I didn’t just say that. Thank you.) But I can’t be tolerant! Not of everything, at least. See, when I guiltily logged in on my Facebook account just this morning (Guiltily, because I haven’t been on Facebook for a few weeks. Because of Twitter and Blogger. I feel like I’ve been cheating on Facebook or something, so yeah, guiltily), I had a look at the Groups I was a member of and I judge you when you use poor grammar. is one of those groups. I realised that, if I had joined such a group, I’m not as tolerant as I thought. I mean, read the following and if you totally don’t care, you’ll know you’re open-minded. I think.

"Your awesome."

"I'll meet you at they're house."

"Follow me too the party."

That’s in the description of the Group, here: http://bit.ly/4CzVJY

It also adds:

If mistakes like these make you want to whip out your red pen, join this group.

So I couldn’t not join it. I’ll admit, even I have made mistakes like these. But they were typos.

They were typos okay!?

...

I try checking everything I write before posting it anywhere – in Chat conversations, on Twitter, on my blog, when I post a comment – anywhere, really, but I don’t exactly have the eagle eye. It happens that I leave a few mistakes behind. But what about those who, even if they saw a mistake, didn’t realise it was a mistake? What about those who genuinely don’t know that their grammar is, well, crap?

I mean, this is crap, right?

“thank you for calling... and making me realising...”

Really? Making you realising? What is that?

Anyway, when it’s on the internet like that, words exchanged between friends, it’s okay to make mistakes I guess. It happens to the best of us. Even to journalists or published writers on Blogger. I’m not pointing any finger here. But what about the grammar/punctuation mistakes in ads, important signs or posters that are meant to be read by everybody? I posted some pictures from the Facebook group I judge you when you use poor grammar. And I love the comments that the group members make on them. They always come up with the funniest explanation for the grammar mistakes in the pictures!

Before we start, I just have to say: I only selected the funniest comments (to me) I could find for the respective pictures. Also, since I don’t know these people, I only gave their first name. I hope I’m not violating any rules here, by copying what they said on Facebook to put on my blog. Plus, the group is accessible to anyone on the internet; I’m not doing anything wrong here, am I? (:

Another thing, the pictures don’t belong to me. I hope I’m not violating some other rule here as well. ^_^

...

Some people say I’m boring because I hate defying the rules. I like to call myself cautious. Very cautious.

Don’t start calling me Very Cautious.

All right, here we go.

This was five years after the start of the Iraq war.

Judi: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I finally get it (smacks self in forehead)! They are walking to "Many" (wherever that is, I'm not a geography buff) and it's going to take them 5 years to get there!

Todd: That's pathmetic.

Get it? Pathmetic! Arithetic! Haha!

Instead of “us” they put “ourselves”. Like they had to fill the whole width of the sign or something. But Ley, below, thinks it wasn’t a grammatical error. Hilarious!

Ley: Please advise our elves.

Judi: Excuse me...ummmmmmm...yes, I'd like to report a problem with the toilets; the sign is not correct you MORONS! Yourselves need to take a refresher English lesson or 2!

Russ: Will the person responsible for the lettering in the yellow area, please queue up in the red lane.

I think the colour of the picture is a bit messed up. But you can guess what the red lane is, right? Haha, I laughed so hard at this one! And this one too:

Sue: The same painter as the Loading Znoe dude?

Shawn: "Sotp! Police!"

Jim: SOTP = Signs, Obviously Terribly Painted!

Haha, weren’t those funny? There are more pictures here: http://bit.ly/kpHjr

So tell me, do spelling mistakes, grammatical mistakes and improper use of punctuations (especially apostrophes) bother you as much as they bother me? ^_^

Everything happens for a reason.

I don’t exactly know what I’m doing in front of the computer right now. Didn’t I say that I’d start studying (for real) today? Well, I didn’t even touch my books. Or a pen, for that matter.

I don’t know why I have this habit of always studying at the very last minute. Do I need the stress to boost me to work? Do I need to feel like tomorrow I won’t have any hair on my head because I’ve been pulling them out all night while trying to remember the definitions from my textbooks?

I don’t like stress, and I don’t like sleepless nights.

Actually, I do, but not to study. I don’t like going into an exam with my eyes all blurry and my head filled with cotton candy. And then there’s the risk of me closing my eyes for more than three seconds and consequently falling asleep on my paper. So no, I should learn to study well before the exams – five days beforehand.

Riight, like that’s going to happen.

Anyway, as I was typing this blog (earlier), this friend of mine came to talk to me online (on MSN) and was casually asking me what I was doing. I wasn’t going to tell him I was writing a post for my blog. I mean, he’d know I have a blog and he’d want to check it out! I didn’t want that happening.

Because I wouldn’t want to ruin my hidden identity. Not because I plan to talk about him in future posts. Not at all.

So I lied. I told him I was rewriting my maths copybook because I didn’t like my handwriting in the old copybook. This isn’t actually hard to believe coming from me – I don’t like messy handwriting. But in tuitions, I find it so hard to pay attention to the teacher that I barely put any effort in writing down the notes he/she gives. So my handwriting is pretty much impossible to read in my tuition copybooks.

Even I find it difficult to understand my handwriting when I’m duplicating my tuition copybooks in better handwriting.

That’s kind of sad.

So anyway, five seconds after I told him that lie, I went into complete and utter panic. Because I realised I actually had math tuition that day (today)! And I also had less than twenty five minutes to get there on time! I was still in my PJ’s, since I’ve been extremely lazy today – I was even too lazy to get myself something to drink (I didn’t drink all day until three in the afternoon), and I had to get ready in less than five minutes! The other twenty minutes was for the drive to get to my tuition.

But, being me and all, getting ready in five minutes is pretty much an impossible task.

But I did do it. Almost. I got ready in fifteen minutes.

Okay, twenty.

But I wasn’t late to tuition; the teacher was. (:

During that twenty-minute-drive, I realised that lying to that friend of mine was actually a good thing! It reminded me that I had tuition to go to. So what does this mean? When your parents were telling you it’s not good to lie, they were... lying? Because as far as I can tell, lying saved my ass!

Or if you look it another way, my friend saved my ass. In a way. I think.

Anyway.

“Everything happens for a reason.” I live by that quote. And I’m glad I do. It helps me accept a lot of bad things that happen, and it also helps me see – and appreciate – the little things in life that make it what it is. I guess what I’m trying to say is, there was a reason that this friend started a conversation with me and there’s a reason that I felt the need to lie and pretend I was making a second math-tuition copybook. I could have told him I was reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, doing yoga or writing up a petition for the cleaning of a church – anything that might have impressed him, really – but no, I talked about my math tuition.

I love those little things that seem to happen for a reason. Which makes me believe that everything does happen for a reason.

I have to admit, though, that it’s not all because I find truth in the words. Part of me wants to believe in that saying because I wouldn’t want to accept the consequences of my making the wrong decision. In other words, I wouldn’t want to accept it if something bad happened because of what I did, said or didn’t do or say. I like blaming fate. But I like that everything is meant to be, more.

So it’s not so bad.

It's raining! ...I wish.

Just when I thought that today was going to be a good day, I see the sun shining outside. I hate summer.

Wait, don’t start throwing rocks at me, I don’t hate summer, I just don’t like the heat, the humidity in the air (and believe me, here it’s more than 60% of humidity)(Actually, don’t believe me, I’m not that sure), and the ‘my skin is on fire!’ feeling that you get when you walk outside. It’s like, 32 degrees here (I think) and soon enough, we might start getting hallucinations. Plus, when it’s hot, you can’t put less clothes on – especially when you’re a prude like me – you just have to bear with the heat, and the beads of sweat at your temples, above your lips, under your arms -- I don’t have beads of sweat in any of those places, I swear. But when it’s cold, you don’t have this problem. You just cover up with big and super classy coats. Long ones.

And you can wear your favourite boots.

And gloves.

And colourful scarves that stand out against your dark coat.

Oh my God I want to go to Canada so badly!

Anyway, now that I’ve bitched – *cough* complained about the weather, can I just ask a question? How is the weather in wherever-you-are-right-now?

...

I think the heat has done something to my brain.

Melt it maybe?

If this is the case, then I have one more reason to freak out. See, I’m already freaking out about how my end-of-year exams are only a week away and I haven’t started studying yet. And if I have no brain, how the hell am I supposed to – okay, I do realise that is an actual impossibility. If I didn’t have a brain, would I be writing this right now? Would I have a blog?

No. See?

I have a brain.

But I’m still freaking out about not being ready for my exams. Everyone is at home studying. I’m at home too, except, writing a bunch of stuff to post on my blog instead of studying.

I’m writing about having to study instead of writing instead of studying! (Try to see how this is grammatically correct)

Although, I have to say, last week, I did read a few paragraphs from my Business studies book. That counts as studying, right? So I did start. Huh.

I feel much better now.

I’ve decided that as from tomorrow, I’m going to focus on my studies and do loads of past exam papers. Yeah, tomorrow. Today just isn’t a good day. I went out for lunch with my family earlier and now I’m tired as hell! My two little cousins, one is ten, the other six, (Six! And she’s – I think – hyperactive. Which makes it that much harder to keep an eye on her when she grabs my mobile phone and runs around the restaurant, playing with it. But she’s still the cutest.), asked me to give them piggyback rides, so now I think I’m pretty much exhausted from running around the restaurant myself.

I can’t believe I ran around the restaurant like the hunchback of Notre Dame, giving piggyback rides to my ten-years-old-big cousin. The things I do for my family!

Come to think of it, today has been a great day – so far. I love my family. They’re the most important people in my life. After me, of course.

Haha, I’m just kidding, really.

Really.

I’m not that self-centred, even if I have a blog where I write about my own life. But that’s as much self-centred as I can get.

Oh, also, how can I be self-centred when I read other people’s blog as well? I like knowing about other bloggers’ life. *smiles in a non-creepy way*

Okay, I have to end this post. It’s getting harder to type with my gloves on.

And I need to take off my boots and my long black coat and purple scarf. The heat is killing me.

This is missykimmy speaking.

"Oh look, I've created a blog and I'm totally blogging right now! Isn't this the funniest?"

Hey. I'm Kimmy and lately, I've been overwhelmed with school work and life in general. I just had to find a way to let out my frustrations, other than eating constantly. I've also noticed I've been gaining weight like crazy so, there, blogging looked like an interesting way to avoid all that. To think that five years ago I wouldn't even consider posting anything on the internet! Let alone my thoughts and opinions and… other stuff.

Anyway, it’s silly those websites that let you share so much about your life to people you’ve never met before – to people you’ll probably never meet, too. I always thought it was stupid but it turns out to be kind of nice when you can tell stuff without being judged or anything. Plus, your identity is hidden. I think. It’s easier to speak your thoughts when people don’t know who you are. Like when you go to confess, you know? In that Confession Room? And the priest cannot see your face? Yeah, except that I don’t have any sins to confess. I mean, being a saint and all, what is there for me to confess? (:

...

All right, here’s a confession. I’ve been very tired for the last few weeks, I haven’t had a good night’s sleep in ages and those dark circles under my eyes are starting to turn pitch black. Okay, Exaggeration of the Week, but still. It looks like I’ve been punched in the face or something. It also feels like I’ve been punched in the face. And it’s not like I don’t sleep because I can’t or have so much work to do. It’s because I don’t want to. Yeah, I just realised that yesterday. I don’t want to sleep, because then it would mean that I’ve lost time ‘resting’ when I could have been up doing other stuff like watching a movie or writing a blog.

Blog-writing is probably going to be my new favourite pastime – I don’t have to do anything but sit at my desk in front of the computer and just write whatever I feel like writing. I like the sound of that. For the moment. My pastimes don’t usually last very long. Then again, I’m not sure if blogging can be considered as a pastime.

It’s going to be fun. For me, at least. Probably not so much for you. We’ll just have to see.

Right, I don’t want to make my first post too long; I might come off as a complete nerd. Which I’m not. I think.

I may have been talking to myself all this time, but I like to believe that some people are interested in my life. Because I do have a life. *cough*

Until next time, --

Wait, that was so rude of me. Would you like to follow me on twitter? http://twitter.com/missykimmy

-- I have a life to live.
